Wishing You Sunny Days

I thought that a couple of challenges came together for me this morning.  The Splitcoast CAS challenge to use soft yellow, soft aqua and white - and the clean&simple Fall to Layout.  I had an idea and I happily made a card.  Then I realized there was something a little odd about THREE suns in my sky??!!  But...here's my card anyway!

My blog has been a little quiet the last few days.  My youngest son has been on spring break for the last two weeks (he goes back today!).  Of course, we waited until the last minute to do the things that we wanted to do!

Here he is at the King's Chef Diner in Colorado Springs.
It was featured on Food Network's Outrageous Foods!
Erik is a serious Food Network fan so we knew we
had to do something food related while he was on break.

The diner only seats 10 people.  I wish I would have
pulled back on this photo because the calendar you
can barely see above his head - it was for March 1955.
They have been around for awhile!

This is The Thing - the reason they were
featured on Outrageous Foods.  Actually -
this is only HALF a Thing.  It's just a heap
of ooey-gooey wonderful breakfast stuff
including VERY hot green chili!

After our big breakfast, we toured
Cave of the Winds.  Erik wants to
go back for the more intense tour that
they do by lantern.

The next day we drove for two hours up to a small
town named Windsor for a lacrosse tournament.
When we wandered up to Windsor, it was 76 degrees.  Yesterday morning, when we headed to church, my car thermometer said it was 64.  When we came out of church, it had dropped to 45 degrees.  By afternoon, it was windy and snowing - the weather even cancelled the third Colorado Rockies game of the season.  Colorado is a truly odd state for weather!

You should see a lot of activity on my blog this week - it's cardmaking week at church so I need a bunch of card kits by Thursday night!

Sounds like you had a fun spring break! I love the layed back days when there's no school and we can just create a wish list of things to do and have fun together!

  2. LOL! I love the three suns and I didn't even think it was odd until you pointed it out. :) Maybe you could do another one and replace 2 of the suns with kites...or birds... Or maybe I'll CASE your card and try it myself! ;)
That is one amazing looking breakfast! How much of it did Erik manage to eat??

  5. Seriously cute Kim! Love the colours. Three suns works for me seeing as you are wishing for "sunny days". It's like a mini long range weather forecast, lol. :)
Oh my goodness, did Erik manage to eat all that breakfast?
